Sony Playstation Portable GPU 90nm Specs
Sony launched the Playstation Portable GPU 90nm, a performance-segment graphics solution for game consoles, on December 12th, 2004. The device, in its CXD1876-102GG variant, is based on the RE+SE-90nm graphics processor and is built on a 90 nm technology. It is not DirectX compatible.
With a device area of just 83 mm², the RE+SE-90nm graphics processor is a comparatively small chip.It has five texture mapping units, two pixel shaders, one vertex shader, and five ROPs. A 512-bit memory interface connects the 2 MB of eDRAM memory that Sony has included. Memory operates at 83 MHz, while the GPU operates at 133 MHz.
PS Portable 90nm has a maximum power draw rating of 4 W. The console has an IGP cooling solution and is 170 x 23 x 74 mm. At release, it cost 249 US dollars.
