AMD EPYC 7203 Specifications
AMD released the AMD EPYC 7203, an 8-core server/workstation CPU with an MSRP of $338. It is a component of the EPYC range and uses the Socket SP3 and Zen 3 (Milan) architecture. The EPYC 7203 supports hardware virtualisation, which significantly boosts virtual machine performance. Furthermore supported is IOMMU virtualisation (PCI passthrough), which allows guest virtual machines to utilise host hardware directly.
The EPYC 7203 runs at 2.8 GHz by default, but depending on the workload, it can go to 3.4 GHz. It also contains 64 MB of L3 cache. AMD uses 8,300 million transistors to produce the EPYC 7203 on a 7 nm manufacturing node.
The EPYC 7203 requires adequate cooling since it uses a lot of electricity with a TDP of 120 W. DDR4 memory with an eight-channel interface is supported by AMD’s CPU. Officially, the maximum memory speed is 3200 MT/s, but you may increase it even more with overclocking and the appropriate memory modules.
